Why White with a Red Interior?
Because that’s the way it all started in 1953.
All 300 cars built that first year were Polo White with a Red interior:

In ’62 a friend offered to let me drive his new White with Red ’62 Corvette and I got so excited I shut my finger between the vent post and the windshield frame. Is this a common problem in Solid Axle Corvettes or was I just unusually clumsy? Anyway, I hold no grudges – here is a similar ’62:
