Body – General

Official from GM – October 18, 2012 – The 2014 Corvette Emblems

Targa – Coupe has a removable roof with optional carbon fiber

A lot of effort to cool brakes and lots of ducts for that purpose

Quarter panel upper vents and hood vents I believe are not on base but GS

Body – Front

Big front grill opening has a middle horizontal bar the color of the paint

Hood vent unlikely on LT1 … For sure on LT4

Headlights function similar to Cadillac – Explain
Only "extra" feature I can think of is aiming headlights around curves?

Above – Are those 'twin peaks on top of the fender real or spoof? They look like a camo spoof until you check the fender tops on the CAD drawing below:

Maybe the 'twin peaks' are real……

Body – Side

Quarter windows are fixed, you can see through them

Fender logo of a stingray fish.. Very cool.

Body – Rear

GM wanted to slim down "hips" of car so rear end is noticeably thinner

Fenders don't bulge as much as you would think. Brass apparently thought C6 rear was way too big.

That deep 'V' is there on the real car. All renderings I have seen don't show the 3D quality of the rear end

Back hatch opens

The spoiler on back I saw was black on a red car. Not sure if they plan to go body color or all black

Rear bumper "CORVETTE" lettering is not the same color as car

Looks like backup lights are those thin vertical outboard slots on the lower bumper

Tailpipe surround is not rectangular. It is trapezoidal with the wide part at the top

Body – The Dreaded Taillights

They ( we assume 'they' to be someone speaking for General Motors) are aware of uproar on taillights (for our non-obsessed, casual visitors, some folks think the taillights on the renderings look too much like the current Camaro). The reported GM rep response was, “They (complained) about fixed headlights on C6 and then got used to it, it will be same with taillights"

Taillights do resemble Camaro/ Malibu but VERY angry looking

Fact from the Editor – The domestic Camaro taillights look like this:

Fact from the Editor – The export Camaro taillights look like this:

Comment from the Editor – Will the C7 taillights resemble some version of the Camaro taillights? Possibly. Would that affect my interest in buying a C7? No.

Back to keeks:

Taillight lenses are more squinty/ angry looking

Top edge of taillights seem lower in real car almost as if they are glaring or squintyer….

They look a lot like Jalopnik

There appears to be a plastic bezel around tailight surround similar to the spoiler and tailight bezel material

Taillights seemed close to the same size from the angle I saw, but the inboard ones may appear smaller as the eyebrow may be covering a little more of the top.

Editors comment – I still believe that, buried deep in those holes, there are at least semi-circular taillights. Sideswipe says:
