Above – May 26, 2010 – The assembly process was started by painting the insides of the walls flat black to keep the interior lights from shining through.
Above – May 26, 2010 – The exterior colors are “as molded”.
Above – June 30, 2010 – Rough assembly is complete and the form for the foundation is located.
Above – June 30, 2010 – Overall location is checked.
Above – July 1, 2010 – The hole for the foundation is dug and filled with crusher fines (small, sharp edged gravel).
Above – July 2, 2010 – The foundation is in place and wires are provided for the lights and protected with rubber hose. Screen mesh reinforcement and mounting blocks are ready.
Above – July 2, 2010 – The same year-old, paper bag of Quikrete was used to pour the church and school………
….with exactly the same result!
Above – July 6, 2010 – The new batch worked better.
Above – August 24, 2010 – Light, sign and details, including a Houseworks door latch assembly, are complete.
Above – September 22, 2010 – The mounting block is installed, the road is in, let’s get the building in!
Above – September 28, 2010 – Not a tornado, just a pause during the wiring hookup to snap a picture.
Above – September 28, 2010 – The old guy is back at work and Brooke School is almost finished.

Above – October 22, 2010 – How do you like the custom chimney? It is a Stoneworks # 4140 3″ Brick Chimney Kit. For such a simple looking feature, it was actually very difficult to assemble. Came out okay tho’. The school name sign didn’t last. A replacement is being contemplated.
